Matariki - Find Your Way Home

Matariki is the Maori name for Pleiades, a star cluster that can be seen in every part of the world. Our ancestors used the Matariki as a navigational beacon when they traveled far from home.

?Matariki is also the name of the Maori New Year and signals a time of celebration as we give thanks to the land, sea and sky and look towards the future.
